The Nikon Coolpix L4 is an easy to use, entry-level point and shoot on Nikon’s Coolpix line. The camera features a 4.0 megapixel resolution (delivering image resolutions as large as 2,272 x 1,704 pixels) with a 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to a 38-114mm lens on a 35mm camera). It also has a 2.0 inches LCD display which is on the smaller side of average with today’s cameras. There’s no an optical viewfinder on the Nikon Coolpix L4 digital camera so that the LCD screen is the only viewfinder to line up your shot.

Along with the features above, the Nikon Coolpix L4 digital camera is packed with Nikon’s helpful Feature System which includes Face Priority AF; D-Lighting to improve underexposed pictures; In-Camera Cropping; and Best Shot Selector which allows users to snap a series of photos and choose one with the sharpest focus.
However, many customers complain about the performance of this camera in low light condition. The Coolpix L4 looks like struggle with the focus when taking pictures indoors.
The camera is compatible with SD cards. No card is supplied as standard with the Nikon Coolpix L4 digital camera, but it comes with a 10MB internal memory. Should you buy this camera I recommend buying high capacity memory cards to store lots of photos and videos. The camera’s power is provided by two AA batteries.
Due to its support of AA batteries and the lens, the Coolpix L4 isn’t a typical pocket-sized camera. At 86.5 x 60.5 x 34.5mm (3.4 x 2.4 x 1.4-inches), you won’t be slipping it in and out of your jean’s pocket. However this camera is small enough to fit in a small purse or bag. Moreover, at just about 145 grams (5.1 ounces) with the batteries and memory card, the Nikon Coolpix L4 digital camera won’t weigh you down.
