The Nikon Coolpix 4300 is yet another entry-level point and shoot digital camera from Nikon. The camera looks so compact in its smoothly sculpted all-plastic body with a modern, matte-silver finish. The Nikon Coolpix 4300 digital camera measures 95 x 69 x 52 millimeters (3.7 x 2.7 x 2.0 inches) and weighs approx. 282 grams (9.9 ounces) with the battery and memory card.
As with most Nikon cameras, the Nikon 4300 offers a combination of excellent picture quality with an amazing range of features to give the photographers the maximum control over pictures-taking process. The Coolpix 4300 offers a 4.0 megapixel resolution which is good enough for printing to 8 x 10 inches with good detail. It also has a 3x optical zoom lens (equivalent to a 28-114mm lens on a 35mm camera). A real image optical viewfinder and a 1.5 inch LCD monitor and are provided for composing images. The camera is powered by Lithium-ion battery pack.

One thing that I really like about this entry-level camera is that the Coolpix 4300 is featured with a manual exposure mode and manual focus to give the users more control over the camera. The Best Selector mode allows you to take pictures in a series and pick out the sharpest one.
As the camera is equipped with movie mode, you can capture moving images at approx. 15 frames per second for a maximum of 40 seconds. However, in addition to a 16MB CompactFlash card that comes with the purchase, you better buy extra memory cards with higher capacity to store lots of pictures and videos.
One complaint I’ve had about the Nikon Coolpix 4300 is that the battery has to be removed to recharge. It’s not surprise me at all as people today are looking for simplicity.
The bottom line one this camera is that the Nikon Coolpix 4300 digital camera has a lot of features an amateur photo-enthusiast would want. The user interface is easy to use and the camera delivers an excellent image quality.
