The Pixma iP4000 is an inkjet printer from Canon which makes light work of both photo printing and text printing tasks. Printing at speeds of 25 ppm in black and 17 ppm in color, the Canon Pixma iP4000 Photo Printer is one of the fastest consumer printer in the PIXMA line. This printer can produce a photo lab quality 4 by 6-inch borderless print in approx. 36 seconds.
In term of size, this 16 by 11 by 7-inch printer is a fairly compact and lightweight photo printer. Iām sure that you should have no problems fitting this portable printer into your existing workspace.
Designed to be a photo printer, the Canon Pixma iP4000 comes with a 5-color ink system. Its five inks include Yellow, Cyan, Magenta and Black (dye-based) and Black (pigment-based). The dye-based version of the black color is aimed primarily at improving photo output. Though Canon calls it a photo printer, the iP4000 is also a good choice for all-purpose printing.

One thing that I really like about the Canon Pixma iP4000 is that each of the five ink tanks can be replaced individually. This will save you money since you don’t have to throw the whole cartridge away when only one of the colors has been used up.
As with most PIXMA printers, the Canon Pixma iP4000 photo printer has two paper- input trays. One is a top-mounted auto sheet loader in the rear, whilst the other is an internal cassette in the front bottom. The printer has also a built-in two-sided printing (duplexing), allowing you to reduce your paper costs.
Thanks to the PictBridge-compatible direct print port, users can connect a PictBridge camera directly to the Pixma iP4000 and simply print out their photos. In addition, the Canon Pixma iP4000 photo printer is compatible with Windows and Mac operating systems.
