The Canon Powershot A430 is another well-built entry-level digital camera from Canon. The Canon A430 comes as the successor to the popular Canon A410.
Compared to its predecessor, the A430 has a higher resolution of 4 megapixel; delivering image resolutions as large as 2,272 x 1,704 pixels. The optical zoom is increased from 3x to 4x (equivalent to 39-156mm zoom on a 35mm camera) and the LCD monitor is enlarged from 1.5 to 1.8 inches. The camera looks sturdy in the dimension of 103 x 52 x 40 millimeters (4.1 x 2.0 x 1.6 inches) and weight of 160 grams (5.6 ounces).
Delve a little deeper and you will find that in the A430 there are 14 exposure modes to get creative with, Stitch-Assist mode for shooting panoramas and a Continuous mode for capturing up to 2.3 frames per second. With the movie mode you can record 640×480 pixel movies at 10 frames per second, or a far smoother 320×240 at 30 frames per second. In addition, the Canon A430 will be great for shooting in bright light or low light as its ISO ranges from 64 to 400.
One thing I really like about this camera is that it powered up quickly and shut down quickly. This could be a big help when you’re on the move and need a fast snap. The Canon A430 digital camera has been equipped with the DIGIC II image processor as well as iSAPS (Intelligent Scene Analysis based on Photographic Space) technology; enabling the camera to make optimal adjustments to auto focus, auto white balance and auto exposure before every shot. The Powershot A430 is powered by AA alkaline or rechargeable NiMH batteries.
