When it comes to buy a digital camera, many people get caught up in the “bigger is the better” mentality when shopping around for digital cameras. They think that the higher megapixel and the more expensive is the better. I don’t think so! It is better to buy a camera that matches your need and one that will last a little while (at least a year). Also, it is good to make a little research on the different types of digital cameras, their features and identify our objective before buying a digital camera. For this, the internet will be a good friend.
There are many different types of digital cameras to choose from and the one you choose what have a lot to do with what you plan on using the camera for and it should meet your needs.

Generally, there are three basic types of cameras you can buy on the market. These types are: point and shoot cameras, bridge cameras and professional Digital Single Lens Reflex cameras.
Point and shoot cameras operate fully automatically. Most of them come with compact design. These cameras featured with automatic control from choosing the correct exposure to whether a flash is needed.
Bridge cameras – These cameras form a ‘bridge’ between the compact digital camera and the DSLR camera. These cameras allow you to have more options over control.
Professional DSLR cameras allow you to have full control over the exposure. Instead, you can also shoot in full automatic mode or using exposure modes.
If you have decided what type of digital camera you want to buy, you better determine the features you need from your camera such: resolution, types of lens, manual mode and ISO value.
You, actually, don’t have to worry about the resolution since most of the digital cameras today have higher resolution. You can easily find a 4 megapixels digital camera today and it’s enough for an average photographer.
After going through the different types of digital cameras and their features, you should ask yourself about the objective of buying a digital camera. If you are a beginner, don’t jump to the professional one. Try to use the simple one and then you could move ahead after you have the feel with your camera.
